Statistics have shown that more than 70% of death recorded in Nigeria is a result of a lack of money from the patients not a lack of medical facilities as insinuated by many.
Therefore, If you are like me that don’t believe that anything works in Nigeria, please take your time to read this article to the end because finally, something has worked for me.
What you are about to read is on NHIS (National Health Insurance Scheme), which is a sure way you can save your life today in Nigeria.
I am forced to write this article for Nigerians because I paid dearly for lack of knowledge and ignorance of the benefits of NHIS. Therefore, I don’t want you to experience what I passed through.
All I know is that if you read and follow what I have in this post, you will definitely save your life by having almost free medical treatment in any hospital of your choice in Nigeria.
So, What Exactly is NHIS?
This is a social health insurance scheme designed by the federal government of Nigeria to provide very cheap and cost-effective medication to all at all times. In fact, it is an almost free medication for any Nigerian that key into the program today.
Good News
Before now, the National health insurance scheme NHIS was just meant for federal civil servants, but the good news is that it is now open to all Nigerians. So, whether you are a civil servant or not, you are entitled to almost free medication from the hospital of your choice in Nigeria.
As I earlier stated, I will like to tell you my bitter experience and how I have helped a family out of my experience. I am doing this so that you can also enjoy the benefits of HNIS starting from today
My Story Proper
I spent over N200, 000 for safe child delivery in the federal medical center Yenagoa, Bayelsa state. Please take note, it wasn’t through an operation, my wife was able to push successfully with the help of God.
The question you may be asking is why such a huge amount of money even after it was a safe delivery?
The baby weighed 4.2 Kg and that was my wife’s first delivery, so that attracted serious medical attention. So, I was asked to conduct a series upon series of medical test on the baby and on the mother.
To cut the long story short, the whole process took 2 weeks and cost me over N200, 000 Naira.
While I go round the hospital sections doing the medical test, one question just keeps coming up always. And the question was, are you on NHIS?
Is my wife registered under the National health insurance scheme?
What that means is that, if I had registered my wife, all I would have paid for the whole service will be just N2000, which is 10% of the total sum of the drugs they gave my wife.
You read it right. Instead of spending over N200, 000, I would have paid just N2000 for the whole thing.
In other words, I would have saved N200, 000 if not for my lack of knowledge of the national health insurance scheme and its benefits. It was a lesson I learned in a hard way.
A Happy Moment
It was a happy moment for a couple that came to my house to greet me for the newborn baby. The wife of my visitor was pregnant, so we got talking.
At a point I asked him, has he registered his wife under the National health insurance scheme NHIS? His reply was, I thought it is only for civil servants.
It was then I told him, please once you leave my house go to their office and register your wife. The benefits of NHIS are now open to everybody in Nigeria. He did exactly as I said. Then after 4 months, he called me thanking me as if I was his God.
I was even confused with the level of appreciation. I asked what happened. It was then he told me that he has enjoyed the benefits of NHIS.
His wife put to birth through operations and after the whole thing in the hospital, he was billed just N2, 650 (Two thousand six hundred and fifty Naira only). In addition, he has 21 days of bed rest in any hospital of his choice.
It will interest you to know that the National health insurance scheme registration of his wife covered that of the baby from day 1 to 3 months after birth.
Do you see why I said it is an almost free medication for all Nigerian?
Please take note; the National health insurance scheme coverage is not only for pregnant women. Rather it is designed for every Nigerian against most types of sicknesses we face in Nigeria.
